Zon, A Chinese Tea Performance.
Teak and porcelain
In many cultures, tea drinking is considered as a gathering activity where family and friends have conversations and bond while enjoying the leisure and art of brewing tea. Zon seeks to bring back this "communal" activity which is seen less now where people just have a mug for such beverage. The goal is to bring back this communal sense which is a value that lays in the old to merge with the new, to reintroduce tea drinking as a practice that can be relaxing, socializing and a healthy routine for modern people.
Zon includes a teapot, a tea lotus, three tea cups, a Lazy Susan (turning) tea table and wood box packaging. The set also comes with user manual introducing the culture and steps of brewing Chinese tea.
Zon is based on Chinese "Kong Fu Tea" (also known as Old Man's Tea), which originated in China and is largely practiced in Taiwan as well as Hong Kong.
